Happy Thanksgiving!

Matt and I have a lot to be thankful for this year.

In December last year we made a 4th attempt at IVF, and took the chance of putting back two embryos.  In February it was confirmed that we were expecting IDENTICAL twins, one of the embryos had split (we made sure they checked for a 3rd. baby) In March we found out that we were having GIRLS, and in May (Mother's day weekend) I had to have my gallbladder out while 21 weeks pregnant, and Andrew (my baby brother) was getting married on the following Saturday.  I told the great doctors and staff at Brigham and Woman that I would be there to see Andrew and Kate get married, no matter what.  I was released on Wednesday and  I made it to the wedding and even danced with Andrew at the reception.   I guess a few people thought I was due any day.....

After taking a month off of work, I returned for the summer, the A/C was great!  Starting in mid July I scared at least one person a day and in August I started to work 6 hour days, my last day in my office was Friday August 16th.  Little did I know when I left that day in less than 24 hours  we would have our two bundles of joy.   They were early (34 weeks and 6 days) but healthy!

The girls spent about two weeks in the special care nursery at Newton Wellesley  - the nurses were great and taught us a lot!  They helped put the girls on a 4 hour schedule that we were able to keep until they started to sleep through the night, now they still eat every 4 hours, but they sleep from about 11 pm to 6/7 am!

I have been lucky and able to stay home with them for their first 14 weeks (it will be a total of 19  by the time I go back) and watch them grow.  Being with them every day it is hard to notice the little changes, but when I go back and look at the pictures I find it hard to believe they were ever so small.  (To me they were always a good size!)

Needless to say we have to say a huge THANKS to our families, without their help we would not have been able to complete the girls room and their bathroom remodel (total gut job.)  Thanks also for letting us sleep!  Our parents helped a lot in these first 3 months so Matt and  I could get good nights of sleep and feel confident with caring for the girls on our own.  Below are pictures from while I was pregnant, when the girls first came home and today.

We are 3.... Months and counting

We had a fun weekend!

Saturday we went to our friend Nora's 1st birthday!  She had it someplace where we could play and Gemma and Daddad came too.  We got to wear our tutus for the first time.  Daddy played with us on the floor and then we took a nap on the floor with Daddad.

Sunday was our 3 month birthday!  Mommy left us home alone with Daddy, but not until after they took a lot of pictures.
